All powerful God

With the way our country has been heading all I hear is negative thoughts from everyone around me. How bad everything is, how things will only get worse, how the people who make all of the decisions are so awful. Constant worries, frustration, and even sometimes anger.

I myself will get worried because that's all I ever hear. BUT. I have to constantly remind myself that no matter how bad things get, nobody has power unless it was given to them by God Himself. And the minute He chooses to take that power away, that man will no longer have any power or authority over people.

This song was playing on my way to town this morning, and it just made me remember not to worry in times like we are in. God is still all powerful no matter what man says.

"Men will try to rule the world You made, but we know power is Your's alone to give and take. A day will come when every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that You are Lord both now and forever. Day after day our God is reigning, He's never shaken. My hope is in the Lord." -Day After Day, by: Kristian Stanfill

The role model

"I cannot trust a man to control others who cannot control himself." -Robert E. Lee

It's pretty amazing how many people I put up on pedestals or think of as "role models" in my life, and yet the things they do for others is not at all what they are doing in their own life.

Beware of hypocrites who don't walk their talk. Who will lead an army of people into something they are not willing to fight for themselves.

God should be my role model, the one I look up to and wish to be like. The one to live my life after...and doing this, my life will look like love. Straight, honest to goodness love from Christ. This pure love is something we can only get from Christ. We can't get it by the greatest self-help or motivational books. To live, we must die to ourselves and surrender to Christ. We won't have a perfect life, but it will certainly be an amazing life. Far more meaningful than man can comprehend.

Ordinary days

I love doing random things and being spontaneous, but sometimes I just don't like change. Things or people I come in contact with that I just want to stay the same for the rest of my life. But I've learned that's never God's plan. I should be thankful that I still have family and friends here with me when so many people don't.

Following God's plan for my life even if it means some hurt every now and then will be 100% worth it, I have no doubt, but before His plan has been completed, I will still be sad when a friend moves on. Ties between friends are usually pretty deep with certain people, and I've had many friends move on with their life that meant not seeing me as much. It never gets easier.

I know God has a plan for every person that moves on past me, and I am trying to trust that "it will all be ok" like my parents always tell me. Those ordinary days when you do the same thing over and over can be so peaceful, then one day you realize you haven't gotten much done with your life because you haven't done anything extraordinary. That is what I hope to start doing.

"We were never meant to compromise; settle for mediocrity. This life was never meant to be a waste of time. With all that is within me, says no more just existing.
Live like there's no tomorrow. Love extravagantly. Lead a life to be followed, goodbye ordinary.
No more complacency, no more just settling this time. Goodbye to atrophy, for we were meant to be alive." -MercyMe
